Frogs

Frogs have an extensive and varied symbolism across many cultures.  For example, among many native American tribes the frog is viewed as a symbol of transformations and growth of springtime and renewal.  I didn’t know this when I started collecting frog and toad figures at about 18 years of age.  I just thought of them as a wonderful example of an artist transforming something ostensibly ugly into something interesting and possibly beautiful.

Heaton Mersey Gardeners

We aim to improve and maintain green space areas in the centre of Heaton Mersey, in order to help make the village an attractive and welcoming place to live in and visit.  (Heaton Mersey is a community in Stockport, which is in Cheshire which is in the north of England!) We are associated with the group Sustainable Living in the Heatons.
